CANNED ZHANGZHOU MUSHROOMS RETURN TO THE U.S. MARKET

A batch of 49,300 US dollars canned mushrooms in the Zhangzhou district has been successfully cleared at the local US customs, which indicates that Zhangzhou canned mushrooms have re-entered the US market for the first time after 4 years. 


Since 2012, the United States has increased the detection of "carbendazim" for canned products. 

Many canned mushrooms imported to the United States have been notified due to the detection of carbendazim, and exports have been severely blocked. Chinese canned mushrooms have basically withdrawn from the US market for processing export companies.  Cause huge losses.


Zhangzhou canned mushroom exports total nearly 80% of the country's total. The United States is one of the major markets for canned mushroom exports in Zhangzhou. 

To help canned mushrooms re-enter the U.S. market, the Zhangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has stepped up inspection guidance to help to export companies pass the US FDA. 

Official inspections have obtained "passport" for the export of canned mushrooms to the United States. In recent years, a total of 11 canned companies exported to the United States passed the FDA inspections 16 times.


At the same time, help companies establish self-inspection and self-control programs from source to finished product in accordance with the requirements of US regulations, especially to strengthen the management of raw material planting for pesticide residue indicators that the FDA cares about, ensure product quality and safety from the source, and strengthen production process control to guide companies to do a good job Labeling and effective isolation of imported cans from other ports to prevent cross-contamination during processing.


In addition, strengthen the export sampling inspection, strengthen the export sampling inspection and compliance verification of products according to the risk assessment results, and ensure the smooth export of canned mushrooms exported to the United States.
